Straight answers to the questions we hear most.

Will my laptop fit?

Yes, up to 16 in. It sits in a detachable sleeve inside the main compartment, where the structured sides give it a generous amount of room.

Can I take the laptop sleeve out?

Yes. It lifts out, so the Altair works as a plain tote on the days you are not carrying a laptop.

Brown or black?

Both are the same leather, dimensions and hardware. The brown deepens more visibly with use; the black holds its tone longer.

Can I wear it on the shoulder?

Yes. The handles clear the shoulder comfortably, and it carries just as well in the hand.

Does it stand up on its own?

Yes. A structured base keeps the bag upright when you set it down, and the sides hold their shape so the opening stays wide.

What is it made from?

Full-grain leather, substantial enough to hold its own shape, lined in cotton, with solid brass on the handles, rings and clasps, left unplated so that wear reads as patina.

What if I have chosen the wrong colour?

An unengraved Altair can be returned within 30 days in original condition. Engraved totes are made to order and final sale except where faulty, so leave the monogram off if you would like to see the colour in person first.

Is the monogram included?

Yes. Up to three initials, engraved into the leather before the bag leaves the workshop, included in the price.

How do I care for it?

A dry cloth for dust, and a leather conditioner two or three times a year. The color deepens and the hand softens with use.

When will it arrive?

Ships in 1–2 business days (monogrammed pieces take a little longer, as each is engraved to order). Delivery is 5–10 business days to the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and 7–14 elsewhere. US import duties are covered.
